Cold

Cold … it’s an ugly word isn’t it ?When you think of cold you get shivers down your spine no matter where you are. Cold is one of the most elementary sensations a human being can have. Without cold, warmth would lose much of it’s popularity. When you are cold, you think of how well it would be if you were warm, but when you are warm do you ever think of how it would be if you were cold? I doubt you do … It is morning, you have just realized you are awake, your mind is heavy and your body is heavy. You do not open your eyes, but you cuddle in your quilt. The contact of your body with the bed makes you feel uncomfortable and you open your eyes.  You stare at the ceiling for a while and then you decide to rise from your bed. You slowly take off the quilt and what do you feel ? You feel cold, you get shivers, you tremble a little. Cold is the first thing you feel when you wake up and the only thing that makes you stay up(and I suppose you do that quite often). You get shivers just from reading this don’t you? When you go to the bathroom and the bathroom window is closed so it is quite nice and warm inside. Then, you sit on the toillet seat and your entire body complains and you get chicken skin. Doesn’t that feel great ? It makes you feel alive ! When you are cold, you can always put more clothes on, turn the heat on, but when you are hot what do you do ? You strip of all you clothes remaining only in your underwear, you turn on the air conditioner and you catch a cold ! When you are sleepy and you are on your way to school and it is cold outside, that keeps you awake doesn’t it? Being cold hardens you, makes you more rigid, it proves you are alive while warmth makes you feel soft, it makes you sleep only to wake up and be cold once again ! When it is cold outside (not to mention freezing) and you are with your lover, isn’t it better than when it is warm ? When two lovers are cold, they do ..things.. to be warm again, but when they are warm they tend to stay as much away as possible, their body heat being uncomfortable. I say that a cold beer/soda (in my case) in a hot summer day is much better than a hot chocolate in a cold winter day ! If you sit back and think of it a little, you also will come to the conclusion that most people get sick during the warm seasons and not the cold ones ! Because when it is cold you tend to take better care of yourself, you dress up properly but when it is warm you neglect things like a draught, an opened window, you being sweaty and drinking very cold water or leaving the cold air conditioner on, things that will make you feel sick ! How many cool holidays are in summer and how many are in winter ? These having been said, I hope you like what you`ve read and come back for more soon !
